AMS Student Travel Grants

Applications Due December 1st

AMS Travel Grants provide students with up to $500 to offset travel expenses to present at the annual American Microscopical Society meeting (held jointly with Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology)

 

Applicants must:

  • Be a member of AMS

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program

  • Be the presenter of a talk or poster presentation in which microscopy was used in the research being presented


Applications should include (and be limited to):

  • Applicant’s name and academic affiliation

  • Applicant’s contact information (email, telephone, mail address)

  • Title and authors of your AMS/SICB presentation

  • Statement of membership in AMS

  • A paragraph describing the use of microscopy in the research to be presented at the annual meeting (≤ 200 words)

  • Statement of financial need, including a budget where appropriate (≤200 words)

  • Please indicate if you have received funding from AMS in the past.

 

Applicants should not send full CVs, letters of recommendation, reprints, or other documents.

Email complete proposals as a single PDF file by December 1st to AMS@amicros.org with the subject line: AMS Student Travel Grants

 

Award notifications will be made in mid-December and awards will be payable at the meeting after the presentation has been given.
