The American Microscopical Society sponsors a best student paper award for students who present at the annual meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology.  There is an award for both a talk and a poster presentation.

Presentations are judged for background information, methods including microscopy, significance of the research, and ability to answer questions.  Presentations should have clear microscopy (light, fluorescence, SEM, microCT, etc.) which is needed to answer the research questions.

Rules: Students must be members of the American Microscopical Society to compete in the contest.  Topics do not need to be on invertebrates.

Awards: Student winners will receive a cash prize.
